University Union’s Bandersnatch Concert Series is known for bringing up and coming artists to Cuse. Soon after hitting the stage in the Schine Underground, those “unknown” artists are seen topping the charts, and only Syracuse University students can say, “I saw them perform live first.”

Check out which Bandersnatch artists came to Syracuse in the past, and where they are today. Be sure to check out folk artist/rapper Raury and producer and songwriter Demo Taped on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now in the Schine Box Office!

Chance the Rapper

Back in 2013, Chance sold out the Schine Underground less than an hour after tickets went on sale —faster than any other Bandersnatch show in UU history. He sang hits off his Acid Rap mixtape and even covered Coldplay’s “Fix You.” Now fans are eagerly awaiting his third mixtape, following the success of his studio album, Surf. 

Walk the Moon

Alternative-pop band Walk the Moon brought their indie vibes to SU in 2012 soon after opening for fun. in Europe. The band played its hit at the time, “Anna Sun,” for students, but is now known for the 2015 summer anthem, “Shut Up and Dance.” The band has played major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Firefly, and Austin City Limits.

Big Sean

Before he killed it on the big stage at Juice Jam 2015, Big Sean came to SU back in February of 2012 following the release of his debut album Finally Famous..  Now, Big Sean has earned a No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart for his third album, Dark Sky Paradise. His biggest songs are “I Don’t F*** With You,” “Blessings” and “Dance (A$$).”

Steve Aoki

Five years ago, DJ Steve Aoki played the Schine Underground on Homecoming weekend. Student DJs also competed against each other in order to be the opening act for Aoki just days before he hit the stage. Today, Steve Aoki is a world renowned electronic artist and EDM festival headliner best known for his crazy onstage antics such as throwing cakes into the crowd.

Two Door Cinema Club

Irish group Two Door Cinema Club graced the Underground in 2010 with their electronic-pop sound, with indie rock band GROUPLOVE opening the show. Two Door Cinema Club played their hit “Undercover Martyn” and also debuted a brand new song for the screaming crowd. The band is currently working on its third studio album.
