University Union Cinemas board is happy to show the acclaimed "Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri" starring Francis McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell. The dark comedy is directed by Martin McDonagh.
According to Fox Searchlight Pictures,"After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter's murder case, Mildred Hayes (Academy Award winner Frances McDormand) makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson), the town's revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother's boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated."
The movie has certainly caught everyone by surprise this awards season as its become a front-runner for top categories. So far the movie has won Best Motion Picture- Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture- Drama, and Best Screenplay- Motion Picture at the Golden Globes. With all these wins, the film is expected to do exceptionally well at the Oscars.
University Union will be showing the movie in HBC Gifford Auditorium on Thursday Jan. 25- Saturday Jan.27.
